Programs in the following South East Los Angeles (SELA) communities are eligible to win a grant as part of AltaMed’s Grow Together Match Program.

Future opportunities will be available in other communities AltaMed serves.
Because there are so many immediate needs, the Match Program is for projects that can be completed within 6 months of funding.
Funding for early-stage ideas, planning, and preparation (i.e. obtaining permits, getting approvals) will not be considered.

Proof of Funds
Regardless of the amount you seek, you’ll need to have an equal share of funding available.
Letters of Recommendation
The application requires a letter of recommendation from:
(1) The executive director or leader of your organization.
(2) A community leader who can attest to your organization’s ability to execute your project.
WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
There are three categories of projects we’d like to fund:

Play Healthy
a park, a playground, sports equipment, health and fitness classes.

Eat Healthy
after-school meal initiative, meals-on-wheels effort, food donations or kitchens for homeless, cooking classes, organic community gardens.

Stay Healthy
employee wellness programs, healthy living classes, motivation applications (e.g. Fitbits), tobacco-cessation efforts, caregiver training.
